Acid Loops
Sony’s Acid Loops is still one of my favorites to use and work with. I worked for Sonic Foundry when they produced Acid 1.0. (Sony later bought the line up of music creation and video editing software sometime 2002) I still remember the day when it released. It was an underground promotion where every one in the building was invited to Las Vegas. Everyone ran around the streets and put up signs stating Acid is available. The police didn’t take to kind to this type of promotion considering they thought Acid was the drug and not a music program. it was a guerrilla warfare between Acid and Cubase. signs were ripped down only to be put back up. The streets were littered with fallen promotions. But yet the crowed was eager to see what Acid was all about. It was most exciting teaching newcomers about our product and how to use it. People were amazed on how easy it was to create a song with the existing loop library’s we had at the time. People were lining up to create their own tracks and ready with money to buy the new software from a unknown company. Ahh I miss those day’s.
